Knutsford First Responders

We run a Defibrillator Initiative to provide Automatic Exterior Defibrillators (AEDs) in and around the Knutsford area.

When a patient collapses in cardiac arrest, it is essential that defibrillation is applied within minutes.  If it is, then there is a much higher probability of that life being saved. The AEDs are fully automatic and are designed to be used by anyone trained in CPR.  The use of an AED is included as part of the HeartStart training course.  Trained members of the public have already used several of our defibrillators in emergency situations around the town.

The AEDs are clearly identifiable because they are stored in large boxes which are easily accessible.  We endeavour to place these machines in premises which are open for long periods of time during the day, preferably 7 days a week.  There are several already in place and we hope to continue funding the purchase of more.

We support AEDs at:

  • Booths Supermarket
  • Boots the Chemist
  • Egerton Youth Club
